Double Ka Meetha Recipe Hyderabadi Style Dessert Recipe is a traditional bread pudding dessert of fried slices dipped in hot milk with spices, such as saffron and cardamom. Double ka meetha recipe  is a delicacy of Hyderabad and Telangana. It is popular in Hyderabad prepared with bread which derives its name from double roti. Double ka meetha can be traditionally served at wedding and parties. Double ka meetha is particularly prepared during the festive month of Ramadan and on Eid. This dish is similar to Shahi Tukda. It has its roots in Mughlai cuisine. When the bread slices absorb the richness of milk and spices it gives mouth watering taste. It is easy to make with simple ingredients like bread, milk, cream, sugar. The saffron and cardamom gives a nice flavor and Aroma gives color to its overall appeal. The dry fruits like cashew, pista, badam give extra taste to the dish.

Double Ka Meetha Recipe Ingredients:

  1. White bread slices – 8
  2. Milk – 1 cup
  3. Sugar – 4 tbsp
  4. Cream – 3 tbsp
  5. Pure ghee -2 tbsp
  6. Almond peeled and sliced – 10-12
  7. Pistachios sliced – 10-12
  8. Saffron – few strands

Preparation:

Step1:

Heat the milk in a non-stick pan on medium flame. When the milk starts to boil reduce the flame low and boil until the milk quantity reduce to off and turns thick add some saffron strands and cardamom powder and mix the content well. Remove it from the flame and keep aside cool it at room temperature

Step2:

Take some water and sugar in another pan to get ready sugar syrup. Steam it over lower flame until a bit thick for 5-6 minutes, put it on aside.

Step3:

Take the bread slices and remove the edges of the slices. Cut the each slice into two triangular shapes. Now make the bread slices shallow fry for crispiness. Heat a non-stick pan and put some ghee on it toast the bread slices on medium heat until crispy and golden brown on both sides.

Step 4:

Dip each crispy bread peaces in to prepared sugar syrup. And arrange them in a deep serving dish. Dump the thickened whole milk over the bread pieces. Garnish double Ka meetha with almonds, pista and roasted cashew nuts. It is ready to serve.
