Shahi paneer is a dish make with tomatoes, spices and cream. It is prepared like thick gravy. Cream gives thickness to this dish and also the taste. In India mostly in Punjabi people serve this recipe with roti, chapatti, paratha and in naan. It is a thick gravy recipe so it is very tasty to eat with roti’s, chapatti. For the thickness to the gravy we can also add the cashew nut paste.Shahi paneer recipe Ingredients
- Paneer – 500 grams
- Onion – 1 medium
- Black pepper corns – 4
- Cloves – 3
- Cinnamon stick – 1 inch
- Bay leaf – 2
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Sliced green chillies – 2
- Cashew nut paste – ¼ cup
- Yogurt – ½ cup
- Cream – ½ cup
- Garam masala – 1 tbsp
- Green cardamom powder – ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
- Shah jeera – ½ tbsp
- Oil – 4 tbsp
- Saffron – one pinch
- Salt to taste
- Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Shahi paneer recipe Preparation
Step 1Chop the onion into small pieces adds some water and boils them till soft. Keep it aside for cool and make the boiled onions into fine paste.
Step 2
Take the paneer and cut them into half inch pieces. Put the non stick pan and heat oil in it. Now add shah jeera seeds, cloves, pepper corns, cinnamon stick and bay leaf. Fry them for one minute. Now add sliced green chillies, onion paste, turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste. Cook the content for 2 minutes. Add the cashew nut paste to the content and fry them for 2 minutes. Add little bit of red chilli powder, yogurt and cook them till the water will be disappears. Add the cream, saffron, garam masala, coriander powder and salt to taste and sliced paneer pieces. mix the content well and sprinkle the green cardamom powder. Now the shahi paneer is ready to serve. Serve the dish in hot with paratha, roti, chapatti.
