Aloo Gosht is a famous North Indian dish. The recipe contains aloo and meat is cooked with together. For spiciness to the dish add the red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, cumin seeds, black cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves and garam masala. Generally the hot aloo ghost is served with plain rice or roti or paratha or in naans.Aloo Gosht recipe Ingredients
- Chopped potatoes – 3 medium one inch pieces
- Mutton – 1 kg
- Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Chopped onions – 2 medium
- Ground black pepper – 1 tbsp
- Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
- Chopped green chillies – 3
- Garam masala – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
- Black cardamom – 2
- Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
- Oil – 4 tbsp
- Cloves – 6
- Cinnamon stick – 1 inch piece
- Chopped coriander leaves
- Chopped tomatoes – 2 small
- Bay leaves – 2
- Salt to taste
Aloo Gosht recipe Preparation
Take a pressure cooker and put 4 tbsp of oil and heat it. Now add cinnamon stick, cloves and bay leaf fries them for one minute. Add the chopped onions saute them for 2 minutes till golden color. Add green chillies, ginger garlic paste fries them for two minutes and add chopped or blended tomatoes to the content. Now add the fresh mutton and put salt to taste and turmeric powder cook the content for 5 minutes. Now add the peeled and chopped potatoes to the cooker. Keep the lid to the pressure cooker and cook for minimum 2 whistles. Remove the lid and add red chilli powder and garam masala to the content. Finally add chopped coriander and serve the recipe in serving bowl while adding lemon juice. This is a perfect dish for plane rice.
