Borscht-best borscht soup recipe European style how to make at home. Borscht is a type of soup which is prepared with beet root as a main dish. Borscht is a famous and popular soup in Ukrainian, central and eastern European dishes. According to the countries the main ingredients of borscht will be changed. In some countries people use tomato as a main ingredient. In various places potatoes and cabbage are also used for standard to the dish. Generally for this soup people may use meat, tomatoes, bean, mushrooms, garlic, spices, bay leaf and fish.

Borscht-best borscht soup recipe European style Ingredients

  1. Cabbage – 150 grams       
  2. Chopped onion – 1    
  3. Potatoes – 2 boiled and peeled
  4. Peeled and chopped beet root – 3
  5. Garlic cloves – 2
  6. Chopped carrot – 1
  7. Parsley leaves – few
  8. Butter – 3 tbsp
  9. Fresh stock – ½ liters
  10. Bay leaf – 1
  11. Grounded pepper – 1 tbsp
  12. Fresh cream – 2 tbsp

Borscht-best borscht soup recipe European style Preparation 

First peel the beet root and chop it into small slices. Chop the onion, carrot and boiled potatoes. Heat a non stick pan and melt the butter add chopped onions and fry them for 5 minutes. Now add the chopped carrot, sliced beet root and a little bit of butter also. Fry the content for 10 minutes. If the veggies are dry then add a little bit of stock to the content and cook the mixture. After 10 minutes adds the remaining stock, cabbage and garlic cloves. Boil the content till the veggies are soft. Add salt to taste and grounded pepper. Finally serve the soup in a serving bowl and garnish with parsley leaves and some fresh cream.
