Cooking pot biryani with chicken how to cook at home

Pot biryani is one of the famous biryani recipes. Here I told you the special Ramzan recipes. So, I thought chicken and biryani recipes are mostly prepared in this season. We are regularly prepared chicken biryani but here I teach you how to cook pot biryani. Here we use clay pot its give some extra flavor to biryani. If the people who want to prepare special items this is a perfect dish for that people. Is simple to cook at home lets start to here.

Cooking pot biryani Ingredients

  1. Clay pot – 2 litre capacity
  2. Silver foil or aluminium foil – to cover the pot
  3. Chicken – 500 grams
  4. Basmati rice – 500 grams
  5. Fried onions – 1 cup
  6. Yogurt – 250 grams
  7. Green chilli paste – 2 tbsp
  8. Ginger garlic paste – 2 tbsp
  9. Red chilli powder – 2 tbsp
  10. Turmeric powder -2 tbsp
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Cardamom – 3
  13. Cinnamon stick – 1 inch piece
  14. Cloves – 6
  15. Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  16. Shah jeera – 2 tbsp
  17. Oil – ½ cup
  18. Mint leaves – 1 cup
  19. Chopped coriander – for garnishing

Cooking pot biryani Preparation

Step 1
First we prepare the marinated chicken. So, take the chicken pieces in a bowl and add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, black stone flower, cloves, cinnamon stick, fried onions, green chilli paste, lemon juice and yogurt. Mix the whole the content well and keep it aside for minimum 45 minutes. 

Step 2

Wash the basmati rice and soak it on water for minimum 30 minutes. Cook the basmati rice in a vessel. Add a little bit of salt. Cook the rice till half boiled. And turn off the flame strain the remaining water and keep it aside. 

Step 3 

Now take the clay pot put some oil and the whole marinated chicken pieces. Place the half boiled rice over the chicken pieces. Put some mint leaves and chopped coriander leaves on the top of rice. And cover the pot with aluminum foil or silver foil. Put the clay lid on it. Finally put the pot on flame and cook the content for 15 minutes on simmer. Remove the pot from the flame and keep it aside for 10 minute. Remove the clay lid and silver foil and serve the biryani in a serving bowl and serve it hot with sliced onions and lemon juice.
