Butter chicken recipe 'Murgh Makhani' Indian butter chicken recipe is a smooth and very tasty recipe in India. Butter chicken recipe also known as Murgh Makhani. This type of chicken is mostly eaten by the Indian people and also in many Indian restaurants at Abroad. The butter chicken flavour shows its original background in Punjabi cuisine. Kundan lal gujral was first preparing this butter chicken by Mothi Mahal restaurant in daryaganj, Delhi in India. In the late 1970s chain Moti Mahal restaurant was established by kundan lal gujral. In this butter chicken the main ingredients are chicken and butter in the first the chicken is marinated overnight in yogurt, the Garam masala which includes the ginger garlic paste, pepper, cumin, turmeric powder, and coriander powder. The chicken will absorbs these spices and became smooth and tender. In the preparation of butter chicken normally the chicken is roasted in traditional clay oven. If less traditional the will be pan fried. For the gravy of butter chicken we can use the roasted tomato puree and cashew paste also.

Butter chicken recipe 'Murgh Makhani'  Ingredients:

  1. 500gms raw chicken
  2. For preparation of marinade
  3. Red chilli powder -1 tbsp
  4. Ginger and garlic paste- 1 tbsp
  5. Yogurt - ¼ kg
  6. Salt to taste

 For the preparation of gravy:

  1. White butter- 150gms
  2. Black cumin seeds- ½ tbsp
  3. Tomato puree- ¼ kg
  4. Sugar- ½ tbsp
  5. Fresh cream- 50gms
  6. Sliced green chillies- 2
  7. Chopped coriander and salt to taste

 Preparation:

 Step1:
First take a bowl and put the red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, salt and yogurt and mix the contents together then marinade is ready now marinade the raw chicken and keep this matter in the refrigerator overnight. During after night take the marinated chicken and keep it on oven for five to ten minutes. The ¼ of the chicken will be roasted now remove the chicken from the oven.
Step2:
Take non stick pan and put the white butter on it and heat well. Add some cumin seeds, tomato puree, red chilli powder and salt to taste. Fry the content well. In this content, we can add the roasted chicken, green chillies, white butter and fresh cream. Cook the chicken in low heat until done. Finally add chopped coriander for garnishing. The smooth and tenderButter chicken recipe or Murgh Makhani recipe is ready to eat. In this there are 389 calories and low fat contents are present.This recipe butter chicken will be serving with Rice, Roti and Appam.
